NIMCET Eligibility 2026
The NIMCET exam will tentatively be held in the second week of June 2026. The National Institutes of Technology (NITs) administer NIMCET to candidates seeking admission to MCA programs. Candidates having a bachelor's degree are offered admission to numerous universities and participating NITs, including Bhopal, Raipur, Surathkal, Jamshedpur, Kurukshetra, Agartala, Allahabad, and Patna, via the NIMCET exam.

Nationality:
Only Indian nationals can apply for NIMCET 2026.
Educational Qualification (as of September 30th, 2026)
Candidates must possess either of the following qualifications:
Option 1 requires at least a 3-year Bachelor's degree (e.g., B.Sc., B.Sc. (Hons), BCA, or BIT) with Mathematics or Statistics as a subject.
Option 2: A B.E./B.Tech. A degree from a recognised university or institution.
Minimum Marks Required:
- General / OBC / EWS: 60% or 6.5 CGPA (on a 10-point scale)
- SC/ST/PwD: 55% or 6.0 CGPA (on a 10-point scale).
Note - No conversions between CGPA and % are permitted.
- If your university has a CGPA scale other than 10 points, the conversion will be performed using a unitary technique.
- Marks/grades should be calculated using all subjects studied across all years, including optional and language papers.
Final Year Candidates
- Students taking their final year examinations in 2026 are also eligible.
- You must submit a certificate from your college principal in accordance with the booklet (Annexure V).
- Proof of qualifying must be given before September 30, 2026, or admission will be cancelled.
Eligibility for Distance and Open University Students
Candidates with degrees from open universities are only eligible if the program is approved by the UGC/AICTE/DEC.
