BHU Admission 2026 Eligibility Criteria

Admission is conducted through School Entrance Test (SET) by Banaras Hindu University for Class IX and Class XI.
Candidates must fulfill age criteria as on 31 March 2026.

For Class IX

Age must be between 13 to 15 years (DOB between 31 March 2011 and 31 March 2013).
Candidate must have passed Class VIII from a recognized school.

For Class XI

Maximum age should be 18 years (DOB not before 31 March 2008).
Candidate must have passed Class X from a recognized board.
External candidates must have minimum 33% marks in Class X.

Minimum Qualifying Marks in SET

General category: 33% marks required
SC/ST/Divyang candidates: 25% marks required

Additional Conditions

Stream allotment in Class XI is based on SET merit (external candidates) and Class X marks (internal candidates).
