AILET Exam Pattern 2026
The NLUD has uploaded the latest AILET 2026 Exam pattern and syllabus, along with the official notification on the official website at https://nationallawuniversitydelhi.in/. The NLUD Law Admission Test will be held in pen-and-paper-based mode at the designated exam centres throughout the country. The AILET Exam Pattern for UG includes 150 multiple-choice questions (MCQs) organised into three sections: English Language, Current Affairs & General Knowledge, and Logical Reasoning. To complete the whole AILET question paper, candidates are allotted 120 minutes or 2 hours. As per the marking scheme, examiners will provide one point for each correct answer and deduct 0.25 points for each erroneous response; no marks will be awarded for questions that were not answered.

- According to the AILET 2026 Paper Pattern, the BA LLB course includes three sections:
- Section A - English Language
- Section B: Current Affairs and General Knowledge.

AILET Paper Pattern for LLM Course
The key details of the AILET LLM Exam Pattern are mentioned below:
- The entrance tests for the LL.M. Programme will be Multiple Choice Question (MCQ) based only.
- The test paper will consist of 100 MCQs, with each question carrying 1 mark.
- All the 100 MCQs will be from the different branches of Law.
- The duration of the examination will be 120 minutes.
- Negative marking: There will be Negative Marking in AILET 2026. The criteria for negative marking will be based on the formula 0.25*4=1 means that for each wrong answer, 0.25 Marks will be deducted. Therefore, four wrong answers will lead to a deduction of one (1) mark.
- If two or more candidates get the same marks at the All India Law Entrance Test (AILET) their merit will be decided as follows:
a) Senior Age;
b) Computerised draw of lots
AILET Tie-Breaking Policy
According to the new tie-breaker, if you and other candidates got the same marks in the All India Law Entrance Test, a new tie-breaking policy is implemented. The following criteria will be used to handle cases where two or more applicants receive the same score:
- If two or more students receive the same marks in the All India Law Entrance Test (AILET), their merit will be determined by the higher score in the LOGICAL REASONING part of the AILET 2026.
- If the merit remains the same, the candidate with the greater age advantage will be given precedence. If the merit has not changed, a computerised draw of lots will be used.
- If there is no merit change, the authorities will consider computerised lot draws.
