CLAT Exam Day Instructions: The CLAT 2026 exam lasts two hours and is scheduled for December 7th from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. Students can enter the exam centre premises at 01:00 P.M., and they must take their seats in their assigned hall/classroom by 01:30 P.M. CLAT Exam Day Instructions
The CLAT 2026 exam will begin punctually at 2:00 p.m. You will not be able to enter the hall/classroom after 2:15 p.m. You may leave the hall/classroom at 4:00 p.m. after entering. Check all the events on exam day with timings below.
CLAT 2026 Exam Timings
There will be a total of 8 bells throughout the exam. Some of them will be short, and some of them are long bells carrying different meaning.

| Bell 5 | 2:15 P.M. | No candidate will be able to access the exam centre after this time. |
| Bell 6 | 3:00 P.M. | Short Bell marks the completion of the 60-minute test. |
| Bell 7 | 3:50 P.M. | Short Bell, with a warning bell indicating the remaining 10 minutes. |
| Bell 8 | 4 PM | Long Bell Marks the end of the test. Following this bell, no candidate may write anything on the OMR Response Sheet/Question Booklet. |
Mandatory Documents to Carry on CLAT 2026 Exam
On exam day, you must bring the following CLAT exam items -
- CLAT Admit Card 2026
- If your photograph is unclear on the admit card, please bring a self-attested photograph.
- Government ID Proof (Please bring a clear, original photo ID issued by the government. The invigilator will use this document to verify your identification.

Dress Code of CLAT 2026 Exam
You must make every effort to follow the CLAT dress code, and if you do not follow the CLAT Exam Day Instructions regarding dress code on exam day, you may be dismissed on the spot. The CLAT dress code instructions are as follows -

How to Fill OMR in CLAT 2026 Exam?
Filling out the CLAT OMR page correctly is critical for scoring accurately on the exam.
Instructions: Read the instructions carefully. Begin by reading the directions on the OMR sheet. Pay attention to any specific instructions or standards that are given.
Use a blue or black pen: Fill out the OMR sheet using either a blue or black ballpoint pen. Other colours may not be recognised by the scanning system.
Marking Bubbles: Find the matching question number on the OMR sheet for multiple-choice questions.
Fill Bubbles: When marking your response, fill in the circle completely, leaving no stray marks or half-filled circles. To fill the bubble, use a single continuous stroke.
One answer per question: Mark only one option for each multiple-choice question. Marking several choices may result in an inaccurate score.
Instructions for Exam Booklet
Note the following CLAT Exam Instructions for the Question booklet (QB):
- You should write the QB Number and the OMR Response page Number on the attendance page that was distributed during the test, and sign it.
- The Question Booklet has 120 Multiple Choice Questions and blank pages for rough work. No extra sheets will be provided for rough work.
- You cannot ask anyone to clarify the QB during the test. If the QB and the OMR Response Sheet are wrong, you should request that the Invigilator replace them both.
- Do not utilise the old CLAT OMR Response Sheet with the new QB.
- When the exam begins, you must input your Admit Card Number on the first page of the QB.
What Are the Rules to Follow During the Exam?
Before taking the exam, it’s important to know how to behave in the exam hall. Following the rules ensures a smooth and fair test for everyone.
- Stay quiet and focus on your own paper.
- Do not talk, exchange papers, or disturb other candidates.
- Raise your hand if you need help from the invigilator.
- Any suspicious activity, like cheating, can lead to disqualification.
- Follow all instructions given by the invigilators carefully
