The National Testing Agency (NTA) has issued an important advisory to students preparing to apply for the Common University Entrance Test (CUET UG) 2026 via its official handle. As per the CUET 2026 NTA Press Release dated December 4, candidates are requested to update their Aadhaar Card, UDID Card, and Category Certificates before submitting the CUET 2026 online form. The NTA New Notice is also added that the National Testing Agency will administer the Common University Entrance Test [CUET (UG)]-2026 in May 2026, with the application process set to begin in February 2026. The online application form for CUET (UG)-2026 will be available on the NTA website at https://cuet.nta.nic.in/.
CUET UG 2026: NTA asks to update Aadhaar, UDID and Category Certificate
According to the NTA announcement, prior to the start of applications process in February 2026, all eligible aspirants are advised to have of the Aadhaar Card/ Disability Certificate/ UDID Card / Category Certificate (EWS/SC /ST/OBC-NCL) before filling the online application form for the Common University Entrance Test [CUET (UG)]-2026. The primary reason for this update is to prevent discrepancies, mismatches, or incorrect papers, which could otherwise lead to application rejection or issues later on. Aspirants are clearly advised to ensure that their Aadhaar Card, UDID Card (if applicable), and category certificates are accurate and up to date before submitting their application form.
Documents needed to Updated Before CUET UG 2026 Registrations

How to update Aadhaar Card?
- Visit the official website (for Aadhaar, the Unique Identification Authority of India – UIDAI) or the closest Aadhaar service centre.
- Request corrections/updates to the following facts, which must match your school records: name, date of birth (according to Class 10 certificate), father’s name, and residence.
- Update your photograph as needed (Aadhaar occasionally requires a new photo for verification).
- Pay any applicable “correction” fees and provide the necessary proof/documentation.
- Download the new Aadhaar PDF/card after receiving confirmation/acknowledgement of the update.
How to Update Category Certificate (EWS / SC / ST / OBC-NCL)
- If you already have a certificate, make sure it is valid (certificates may be valid for certain categories). If the certificate is out of date or the details have changed, request an update from the relevant issuing body.
- Check that the name, address, and category information are correct based on your Aadhaar / school records.
- Obtain a printed, signed, and stamped copy of the renewed category certificate.
