CBSE Board Exam 2026 New Changes, Paper Pattern & Copy Checking

CBSE Board exams for Class 10 and 12 will start from 17 February 2026. This year the Central Board of secondary education has introduced a new change regarding the number of exam attempts. From now on all the CBSE board aspirants will be given two attempts to appear for the exam one will be held in February while the second in May 2026. This second attempt is optional and meant for students who want to improve their marks in Class 10 and 12. CBSE Board will consider the best score out of the two attempts as the final result. CBSE Board Exams 2026 Rules

CBSE Board has updated the exam rules for Class 12 and 10, and students are advised to carefully refer to the points listed below to understand the latest guidelines and instructions for the board examinations.

  • Students must carry a valid admit card and ID proof.
  • Students must reach the exam centre on or before the reporting time
  • Use of any electronic device like smart phones, smart watches are not allowed
  • Any unfair practice may lead to disqualification.
  • Follow dress code and reporting time strictly.

CBSE Board 2026 Copy Checking will follow strict evaluation guidelines to ensure fair marking for Class 10 and Class 12 students. Examiners will check answers only in the correct sections for example, Science answers must be written under Physics, Chemistry and Biology separately and Social Science answers must follow subject-wise sections like History and Geography. Answers written in the wrong section will not be evaluated.CBSE has also made 75% attendance mandatory, and internal assessment marks (20%–40% depending on the subject) will be added to the final score. All students must be registered through the Pariksha Sangam Portal with a unique APAAR ID for proper academic tracking.

CBSE Board Exam 2026 Paper Pattern

The CBSE Board Exam 2026 Paper Pattern has been revised to focus more on practical understanding and analytical learning instead of rote memorization. As per the new structure 50% of the question paper will include competency-based questions such as case studies and real-life problem-solving. Around 20% of the paper will consist of objective-type questions, while the remaining 30% will have short and long answer questions. This updated exam pattern will be followed for both CBSE Class 10 and Class 12 Board Exams 2026.
