The National Council for Hotel Management and Catering Technology Joint Entrance Examination (NCHMCT JEE) is a national-level entrance examination for admission to B.Sc. (Hospitality & Hotel Administration) and other hotel management courses offered by the IHMs across India. NTA will release the exam pattern along with the 2026 exam notification. NCHMCT JEE Sectional Weightage 

The NCHMCT JEE question paper is designed to test the knowledge of the English language, general knowledge, logical reasoning and aptitude. The question paper consists of 200 questions for 3 hours. The sectional distribution helps the aspirants to divide time according to each section and make a preparation strategy for each section individually. Better performance in all five sections can increase the chance to secure admission to a top IHM.

NCHMCT Subject-wise Details

MCHMCET JEE covers five sections: in these five sections numerical ability & analytical aptitude, reasoning, general knowledge & current affairs, English language, and aptitude for service sectors. Here, we discuss each section.

Numerical ability & analytical aptitude:  This section tests your basic maths and consists of 30 questions. The topics included in these sections are number system, profit & loss, time & work, speed & distance, average, percentage, ratio, geometry, etc.

Reasoning & Logical Deduction: This section tests your logical skills with 30 questions. The questions are based on the puzzles, blood relations, coding-decoding series, statements, etc.

General Knowledge & Current Affairs: This section tests your knowledge about national and international events. You should focus on the last year's current news to cover this section.

English Language: This section tests your reading and writing skills through comprehension-based questions. This section consists of 60 questions, which is the highest number of questions among all sections in the NCHMCT JEE exam.

Aptitude for Service Sector: The aptitude for the service sector in the NCHMCT JEE exam tests the candidate’s understanding of hospitality, ethics, guest handling, and situation management with a total number of 50 questions.
