MHT CET Latest News
MHT CET Examinations are now held twice a Year. The Maharashtra Minister of Higher & Technical Education (HTE), Chandrakant Patil, has declared that the MHT CET 2026 will be held in two separate sessions, similar to the JEE Main Exam, The MHT CET will be held twice during the academic year 2026-27, once in April and again in May 2026. Applicants will have the option of attending the second session; if they do, the highest results from both sessions will be considered for admission.
MHT CET 2026 Exam Date
The Maharashtra State Common Entrance Test Cell has announced the MHT CET Exam Dates 2026 via the official press release. All students preparing for the exam can check the MHT CET Notification, which includes the complete exam schedule, on the official website of the Maha CET Cell.
As per the announcement, the PCM group's first session exam is set from April 11 to 19, 2026, with the second session exam taking place from May 14 to 17, 2026. On the other hand, the first session examination for the PCB group will be held from April 21 to April 26, 2026, with the second session exam scheduled for May 10 to 11, 2026.

MHT CET Eligibility Criteria
The latest eligibility criteria for MHT CET 2026 are going to be released soon by the CET Cell. Candidates applying for the MHT CET exam 2026 must ensure that they meet the eligibility requirements before completing the application form. As of now, they can view the eligibility requirements as outlined in last year's announcement.
General Eligibility Conditions
- Citizenship - Candidates must be Indian citizens.
- Age Limit: There is no age limit for applying for the MHT CET.
- Appearing Students - Candidates must have passed or be appearing for class 12 in 2026.
- Compulsory Subjects - In class 12, the candidate should have Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects, along with any one subject from Chemistry, Biotechnology, Biology, Technical Vocational subject, Computer Science, Information Technology, Informatics Practices, Agriculture, Engineering Graphics, and Business Studies.
- Minimum Marks - Candidates must score at least 45% in class 12. Candidates from the backward class, Economically Weaker Section, and Persons with Disability category should acquire at least 40% marks in class 12.

Admission of Non-Maharashtra Candidates
- Candidates who are not from Maharashtra can appear in the MHT CET. Non-Maharashtra candidates also have the option of applying for B.Tech admission through JEE Main.
- All the conditions of eligibility are the same for Maharashtra as well as non-Maharashtra candidates.
- MHT CET reservation policies do not apply to non-Maharashtra candidates.
- Around 85% of seats are reserved for Maharashtra candidates under the Home-State quota, and the remaining 15% are for Outside Maharashtra State (OMS) candidates.
For OCI/PIO/NRI Candidates
- OCI/PIO and NRI candidates are exempted from appearing in MHT CET. Such candidates can apply for admission based on class 12/equivalent exams. Separate counselling is held for OCI/PIO/NRI candidates after the admission process of MHT CET.
Admission of Maharashtra Candidates
- A candidate who is a resident of Maharashtra State or was born in Maharashtra.
- A candidate whose father or mother lives in the state of Maharashtra and has a Domicile Certificate.
- A candidate whose Gutdian (only parents) works for the Government of India or a Government of India Undertaking (PSU) and is assigned and reported for duty in Maharashtra.
- A candidate whose parent is a current or retired employee of the Maharashtra government or a Maharashtra government undertaking (PSU).
- Candidates from a certain linguistic or religious minority community in Maharashtra who have been notified by the government are eligible to apply for the MHT CET.
- Candidates who have passed the SSC and/or HSC Examination from a disputed Maharashtra-Karnataka Border Area, or Maharashtra, residing in the disputed Maharashtra-Karnataka Border area, and whose mother tongue is Marathi.
MHT CET Exam Pattern
The MHT CET 2026 Exam will be administered in a computer-based format for both the PCM and PCB groups. In the MHT CET PCM Exam, 150 questions will be asked in 180 minutes, for a total of 200 points. The MHT CET PCB Exam will consist of 200 questions administered over 180 minutes.

MHT CET Syllabus
The MHT CET 2026 Exam will distribute marks based on topics such as Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics (PCM) and Physics, Chemistry, and Biology (PCB). The MHT CET syllabus is primarily based on the Maharashtra Board Science books for grades 11 and 12, with 20% from the former and 80% from the latter. Preparing for the Std. 12 Board exam is crucial for MHT CET 2026 as it heavily relies on the syllabus. The exam is separated into two groups:
