How CUET Has Changed the Admission Process at BHU

Admission Process in BHU

If you want to take admission in BHU, then you should check the process of admission process, because before 2022, the BHU admission process was different from the current process. That time, BHU conducted the entrance exam separately, but now BHU offers admission through the CUET exam.

Step 1: The first step is filling out the CUET application form on the NTA website. You should fill the right subject combination.

Step 2: Appear in the CUET examination. The exam evaluates the subject knowledge of the students.

Step 3: After the exam, CUET releases the scorecard; you can check the scorecard after its release. BHU prepares a merit list on the basis of the CUET scorecard.

Step 4: Qualified candidates must register themselves on the BHU online counselling portal. During counseling registration, you must upload the academic details and the document. Then choose the preferred course.

Step 5: After the counseling process, BHU releases the merit list and seat allotment on the basis of CUET score, category, and seat availability.

Step 6: Shortlisted candidates for admission undergo document verification.

How is the Admission Process of BHU different from DU

DU and BHU both offer admission in undergraduate and postgraduate programs through the CUET exam, but the admission process is quite different. The DU admission process is preference-driven and college-based, but the BHU admission process is totally based on merit and the course. Registration on the NTA website and the exam are similar for all universities, but the process has changed from the counseling steps.

• BHU conducts its own centralized counselling through the university portal, and DU demands registration on the CSAS portal for the counselling process.
• Students can choose the course, and admission is based on the merit list, but in DU, students can choose the course and college together, and admission is based on the preference list.
• Allotment of seats in BHU depends on the CUET score and seat availability, but in DU, seats are allotted based on the CUET score, preference list, and category cutoff.
• BHU has a single university with faculties and institutes, and DU covers almost 60+ colleges; students can choose the college through their interests.
• Document verification is mostly done faculty-wise in the BHU, but DU verifies the documents on a college-wise.

BHU UG Admission Eligibility

Every university sets the minimum eligibility criteria for admission; BHU also sets the minimum eligibility criteria. Every program has specific eligibility criteria because every program has specific academic requirements. • Candidates have passed the 12th class or an equivalent exam with a minimum of 60% marks. For general candidates. The reserve category must have passed the 12th class.
• The CUET exam is mandatory for all candidates.
• Most of the undergraduate programs have no age limit.
• There are age restrictions for some courses in BHU, like B.Sc. (Hons) Agriculture, B.Tech in Dairy Technology, etc. Candidates are no older than 22 years old for this course.
